Nov 17, 2020 Rex Chapman: What to Know About the NBA Player Turned Twitter Influencer Rex Chapman played 12 years in the NBA, but most fans most likely know him as a social media influencer. The 53-year-old has over 1 million followers and is known for tweeting a number of viral videos. However, Chapman isn't sure if he likes being called an influencer.

Nobody was expecting to start their Saturday off with some Twitter drama between a PGA Tour player and a former NBA player, but with Twitter being an unpredictable dumpster fire 99.9% of the time, that’s exactly what we got.

Rex Chapman, who you may know as either a former Kentucky basketball superstar or Twitter personality that has mostly gained his following by sharing other people’s viral videos and sometimes forgetting to give them credit, shared a tweet on Saturday morning about COVID.

In his tweet, Chapman explained that he has friends whose parents have passed away from the virus and that one of his children actually tested positive while also taking a jab at President Trump, who he is not a fan of.

My friends parents have died from Covid & Covid related issues. My parents are in & out of the hospital. One of my kids tested positive for Covid today.

Forgive me if I’m upset over 200,000 dead when the President told us 6-months ago we would be down to 0 cases “in a few days.”

Out of nowhere, Kevin Kisner decided to reply to the tweet, writing “guess they can’t follow the guidelines.” Kisner later deleted the tweet, but as you can imagine, this has started some flames on the Twitter machine.

Chapman later tweeted that he would be blocking the three-time PGA Tour winner due to his comment. Best how to sync google calendar to outlook for mac.

I gotta block ya now

While there’s no denying that Kisner probably shouldn’t have hit the send button on the tweet, maybe he was actually attempting to mock the guidelines themselves and not the fact that Chapman’s personal life has been directly affected by the virus? You can be the judge on that one, though.

Kisner apologized to Chapman on Twitter later Saturday afternoon.

Earlier this morning, I made a reckless comment. I diminished the real experience of pain and loss suffered by many during the pandemic. I am not without empathy, but I certainly exercised poor judgement. I apologize to @RexChapman and anyone else that was hurt by my comment.

Is he warming-up for an encore or is this Trump’s swan song?

Rex Chapman — a former NBA sharpshooter turned social media all-star — thinks a doctored video of the president singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” is the latter.

“Goodbye Trump” he captioned a masterfully mixed collection of speeches from the president assembled by Chaouch Zakaria, a.k.a. Maestro Ziikos. Chapman posted the six-month-old video on Election Day Eve.

The musical mix, which runs just over two-minutes long, splices video of the president speaking with clips of Russian president Vladimir Putin playing piano on the state-run network RT.

“Goodbye everybody, I’ve got to go,' Trump appears to sing. “Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.”

In addition to standing accused of defaming a woman who accused him of rape, which he denies, the president is being probed for insurance and bank fraud and “financial misconduct,” according to Manhattan D.A. Cy Vance. Trump could have to account for those things and other allegations if he leaves the White House.

The video posted by Chapman then cuts to the song’s climax where singer Freddie Mercury famously sang “I’m just a poor boy, nobody loves me,” though, in this version, it’s Trump who appears to belt out those lyrics.

Maestro Ziikos' version splices that together with a chorus of former President Obama-heads singing back “He’s just a poor boy from a poor family, Spare him his life from this monstrosity.”

Trump has repeatedly blamed the Obama administration for his troubles battling the COVID-19 pandemic, which hit the U.S. more than three years after Obama and his vice president, Joe Biden, left office. Obama has hit back on the campaign trail while support Biden’s presidential bid.
